Introduction to Adobe Premiere:

Project window: import and manage clips via bins

Timeline window: compose with video, audio, still images, titles etc.

Movie Capture window: monitor input and playback

Audio Mixer: manage multichannel audio mixes

Title Designer: add graphics, credits

Effect Controls palette: prepare video similarly to changes we made using Photoshop earlier

Exercises for today: Friday audio group swap with a video group and shoot some video footage; other video group import Friday's captured sample footage into project bins.

For video capture:

Plug in Firewire adaptor; turn the video camera on (to VCR mode); wait for the XP operating system to recognize the camera; open Adobe Premiere and choose standard settings; in Adobe Premiere, choose File > capture > movie capture; create clips, monitoring using the camera's LCD screen along with the capture monitor in Adobe Premiere.
