Find the Windows Sound Recorder at Start > All Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder (place a shortcut to Sound Recorder on your desktop). To look at your computer's audio capture setup in Windows XP: Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices. Check the settings of the Audio and Voice tabs. Make a short WAV file using Windows sound recorder and save it to the desktop. |

|
Using FrontPage, choose Insert > Advanced > Plug-in, and choose the file you have made. The browser will look for your preferred playback device for WAV files and should display a player icon. N.B. Windows Media Player demands a full URL for playback. On machines in which QuickTime is the default media player the file will play in the browser without a full pathname. As a web author, you must be aware of alternative browsers and media player options. |

A couple of extra commands must be added to the HTML in order that the file does not begin to play automatically. To download the sample .WAV file that appears in the player above, right-click here and choose Save Target As, or just click on the link and follow instructions in Windows Media Player if it is your machine's default player. (To edit audio in Adobe Premiere video projects later, you will import your WAV file into the Premiere project bin, drag it into the audio timeline, and choose Window > show audio effects.) Sample student audio from other classes Dr. Peever has taught is here. HTML tutorials, web color charts and other web authoring tools are here [in the menu, click on web authoring.
